Senior Section

The Senior Section is for young women aged 14 to 25.

Members of The Senior Section can choose from a wide range of unique and exciting opportunities, including travel in the UK and around the world, volunteering with younger girls within Girlguiding as a Mentor or Leader, and working towards valuable qualifications.

The Senior Section offers an exciting and flexible programme with a huge variety of challenges and opportunities for personal development

The Rangers have an awesome time at X Heights climbing.





Rangers take on Switzerland

The Rangers joined up with some of the Guides to head to Switzerland this summer. They certainly looked like they had a fab time!



Indoor camp fire

Westbury Senior Section hosted a lovely campfire for West Division Trefoil Guild. Although they couldn’t be outside they still had the ‘fire’ and smores. Glad to say, they all had a lovely evening!





Scavenger Hunt

1st Bristol West Senior’s took part in a scavenger hunt round Westbury-on-Trym, but with a difficult twist! All the instructions were written upside-down and back-to-front

This World Thinking Day we celebrated 100 years of The Senior Section by taking over Alexandra Palace for a massive celebration.

1st Bristol West Senior Section paired up to deliver foods from different countries of their choice to all people visiting the church. The scones with jam and cream went down well with the Brownies!

The Epic  Day Hunt for Sheep!

Members of both Girlguiding and Scouting groups for the 14+ took part in an epic battle to collect them all. We are of course talking about the Shaun the Sheep hunt around Bristol, members were challenged to find as many Shauns by foot or public transport as possible. We are proud to announce that after many many miles and hours of walking the “Westbury Warriers” a team from Bristol West won with a whopping 54 Shauns!!!

The Seniors joined the Clifton Guides Poppy Patrol for a night of singing, campfires and of course s’mores!

1st Bristol West Seniors Represent County, Camping at Briarlands

The Seniors spent 2 nights camping at the fabulous new site at Briarlands. They all had great fun even in the rain!



Camp Blankets To Be Proud Of

As many of you know, as you go through Girlguiding you have the chance to earn badges. These are sewn on a camp blanket which can be proudly displayed around a camp fire on camp. Here is an example of one of the 1st Bristol West Senior sections blanket all full up with badges from her time in Rainbows, Brownies, Guides, Seniors and as a Leader. Congratulations to Bristol West Senior Section Winning the Cookafest competition at County!!

Cat and Chloe won the Division event to go through to county where they faced off against another team to win. Good luck to both at the Regional heat in July!





1st Bristol West Senior Section

image41st Bristol West Seniors started back this term with 2 new leaders,  Jess and Amy both Students at the University of Bristol who were really excited to take on the unit. This term the unit have been working on the Mischief Managed interest badge based on Harry potter, this included designing their own magical shops for Diagon Alley. These’s included a sweet shop with added broom access on the roof, a Jamaican broom shop and lots of glitter!
